Al proudly served in the United States Air Force and later retired after a dedicated 38-year career as a lineman at Consumers Energy. He had a passion for golf, enjoyed being by the water, loved boating, and was fond of riding his Goldwing motorcycle.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mirilyn, who preceded him in death in July 2020. Al was the dear father of Sharon K. (Melvin) Rademacher, Daniel E. (Brenda) Benson, and Steven C. (Lisa) Benson, and the proud grandfather of six and great-grandfather of eight. He was a caring brother to the late Irene (Al) Pierce and Joyce (Hank) Furgala. Al was also the father-in-law of Denny Goodman and was preceded in death by his daughter Teresa Goodman. He was the cherished son of Everett and Marjorie (Lane) Benson.
Al is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives. Private services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home - DeWitt Chapel.
