Evelyn Joyce Prekop

Evelyn J. Prekop, age 55, of DeWitt, passed away on July 8, 2016. The daughter of John and Victoria (Kloc) Wolak, Evelyn was born on July 31, 1960 in Cass City, Mi. She worked for many years in the area as an X-Ray Tech, most recently at the MSU Women’s Health Center and Sparrow Hospital. An avid gardener, she was a Certified Master Gardener and past president of the DeWitt Millennial Garden Club, past uniform director of the DeWitt Band Boosters, and a member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude. Her biggest passion in life was being a devoted wife and mother, and spent most of her time caring for her family.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 27 years, Donald, their children, Michael (Ashley Boynton) Prekop, Thomas Prekop; her mother; Victoria Wolak; her brothers; David (Anna Jo) Wolak, Paul (Beatrice) Wolak, her sister; Susan Wolak, along with ten nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; John Wolak and her brother; Patrick Wolak, and mother in law Eda Prekop.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Thursday at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, DeWitt. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, DeWitt and at St. Jude 1 hour prior to Mass.
