Jack Richard McVicker, age 90, died on May 6th, 2026. His long life began on August 11th, 1935, in Toledo Ohio, born to Cecil and Geraldine McVicker. He is survived by his sister Sharon (John Zankle). He was a resident of Dewitt, Michigan.
He married Patricia Nelson, the love of his life, and together they raised three children: Mike (Carol), Kelly (Dan Wagner), and Colleen (Derek Beaumont). He was a proud grandfather to Jamie, Jennifer, Ryan, Evan, and Haley, and a great-grandfather to Madeline and Nora. Jack was preceded in death by his brother Carl.
Jack built his career in the forging die sinking industry, gaining experience through years of dedicated work until he became the proud owner of Spartan Die in Lansing. Whether living in Lansing or DeWitt, he valued the steady joys of time spent with family and friends—especially in the pool and around his well-cared for yard.
He and Patricia also cherished the years spent at the Lake Leelanau RV Park and the many great friends they made there. He enjoyed shelling and dolphin watching from his time-share balcony in Myrtle Beach, taking quiet pleasure in the simple beauty of the shoreline.
A private burial will be held Tuesday, May 12th. A Celebration of Life for Jack will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the entire staff at Eaton Community Palliative Care.
