James was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to the Lansing Muzzle Loaders Gun Club, and he enjoyed collecting. Some of the many items James collected were antique planters, tractors and bottles, canes, knives, and guns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Racheal Marie Lyon; and sister, Judith Ann Gross.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Marcia F. Lyon; daughter, Nanette N. Vergeson of DeWitt; son, Joshua J. Lyon of Lansing; sisters, Megan (Debra Rockwell) Sky of Deerfield, Susan Spinner of Republic, Missouri, and Kathy Valentine of Lansing.
A memorial service for James is planned for the spring. Contributions in his memory made be made to the charity of one’s choice.
