James Michael Trendel

James Michael Trendel passed away on October 10th, 2022, at the age of 85. After several years of declining health, James died peacefully with his beloved wife Nora of 58 years and their children by his side.

James was born in Lansing on September 23, 1937, and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, and he retired from Fisher Body after 30 years of service.

James was a kind, caring and giving man, who’s generosity was like no other and he will be missed dearly by all who remember him. He had a passion for woodworking and enjoyed using his scroll saw to create amazing works of art. He loved being outside, working in his garden and bringing freshly picked flowers to his wife. He also enjoyed Genealogy and dedicated much of his time to researching and authoring the Trendel family tree.

James made a promise to his wife almost 60 years ago that he would take care of her for the rest of his life and while he is gone, he left behind a loving family to fulfill his promise to her. James is survived by his wife Nora, daughter, Deborah (Dan), 2 sons, James Christopher (Angie) and Jason (Charlotte). 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A visitation for James will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 12:00pm until the time of the service at 1:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home 205 E. Washington St. DeWitt, MI 48820. In Lieu of Flowers the family requests that donations be made to James’s favorite charities, Cristo Rey Community Center or the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
