Joan Theresa (Hufnagel) Trierweiler

on March 4, 2021 to be received into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Born November 14, 1931

in Lansing, MI to Louis and Eleanor (Sohn) Hufnagel. She was preceded in death by her parents;

brother, Hugo (Alta); sister, Eugenia (Steve); brother in-law, Joe; and sister in-law, Helen.

Early in her life, she was Class Valedictorian of St. Mary H.S. and later worked at Ingham Medical

Hospital. Joan was a keeper of traditions and used her savvy computer skills to organize life

events from holidays to annual fishing tournaments at Horsehead Lake. Family was everything

to her and she never missed a birthday, anniversary or family announcement. Joan was also

a Breast Cancer and Merkle Cell survivor.

Joan’s Catholic faith was important to her, belonging to Church of the Resurrection (Lansing),

St. Michael’s Parish (Remus), and finally at St. Jude Catholic Church, (Dewitt). She loved her

Lord, the Bible and daily devotional readings.

She had a passion for shopping…especially for clothes…known by many for her keen fashion sense.

Joan also loved the peaceful sound of water on the beach and appreciated many beautiful

sunsets. She also enjoyed welcoming many dogs into her life and ending her day with a small ‘juice’ glass of Chardonnay.

Joan will be greatly missed by her devoted husband Arthur (of nearly 70 years); 7 children and

spouses; 14 grandchildren and spouses; 4 great-grandchildren (with one more on the way);

sister, Anita; brother, Louis and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Ingham County Medical Care Facility who

took such loving care of mom.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions

may be made to The Foundation of Support to Ingham County Medical Care

Facility, 3860 Dobie Rd., Okemos, MI 48864 or St. Jude Catholic Church, 801 N. Bridge St.,

Dewitt, MI 48820 in memory of Joan.
