I am deeply sorry for your loss.  I will always remember Joey checking in, his 1000 watt smile, and his friendly presence at school. Joey was in my 9th grade ELA class. We often discussed graphic novels together. In fact, he would still stop by from time to time and check out a book. I will look for him still, reflect on his spirit, and keep his memory alive for years to come. I believe Joey will inspire many to be better teachers, students, friends... people. Thus, he will live on.

I was Joey's LINK for one semester this previous school year. I joined Links because I wanted to help people, but Joey actually helped me. He always had the brightest smile and loved to talk about his video games. He was very smart and independent when it came to a lot of the schoolwork he needed to get done. He uplifted my mood when I would be feeling down just by being his enthusiastic self. Thoughts and condolences to your family.

I am so sorry to hear about Joey. I never forgot his smile nor his tender spirit when he was in my 6th grade class as well as when I took pictures of him wrestling in Jr. High. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you especially Ryan and Patrick who I also got to know through school.

I am so sorry for your loss. My daughter Victoria and Joey hung out in seminar, she expressed how he was her best friend in that class. They often talked about the Hulk as he is a favorite of them both. I wish he knew he was her strength to get thru that class and for that I could never thank him enough. Joey was very sweet to her. He will be greatly missed by many. I heard he had an awesome time on the boat dancing this year for prom. He has brought many smiles and good memories with his peers. Victoria will surely miss him. I want express my deepest sympathy to the Donovan family.  I had the privilege of having Joey in my science class at DJHS.  He would come early to class just to hold my snake Jake.  He spent countless days after school holding Jake and helping me feed and take care of him.  My fondest memory of Joey was when we were in the talent show and we preformed &quot; What does the Fox Say&quot;. I had the privilege of being Joey's LINK for one semester in school. I remember that he had the most joyful smile. I went in to the LINKS program thinking that I could change someone's life. Donovan Family,
I had the joy of having Joey in multiple classes at DJHS, and working with him often together after school.  We had many funny moments together, and the joy we had at the Talent Show was one of my favorite moments in 30 years of teaching.  Our running joke between us was who was my favorite Joey that day (my son is a Joey too), and often it was him. My heart is so saddened and I will miss him visiting me at Halloween.  I'm so sorry.
