He married Margaret Ann Gleason on June 29, 1957. Jack graduated from Olivet College in June 1957, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Alpha Fraternity.
He served in the US Army as a Howitzer Operator in Germany. Jack was employed by Mead Johnson/Bristol Myers as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative – Nutritional Division from 1965-1991.
Jack was a member of Redeemer United Methodist Church in DeWitt.
He loved his family dearly and spent many years making great memories with them boating and fishing in northern Michigan during the summers and golf-carting everyone around The Villages during their winter and spring break trips to Florida.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Margaret; daughters, Jennifer Wood, and Julie (Tom) Hunter; son, John (Janan) Snyder; grandchildren, Joshua Swan, Ricky Wood, Dustin Hunter, Joey Wood, Carrie Hunter, Kathryn Hunter, and Olivia Snyder; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Rick Wood; and granddaughter, Lisa Wood.
Jack’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the Resident Care Team at Delta Retirement Center and the staff at Sparrow Hospital.
Visitation at Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington St., Monday from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing at a later date.
