

Joseph Allen Schoonmaker, 37, of Bath passed away unexpectedly on August 12. Joe was a hard worker. His job of choice was hanging siding, but he also did some roofing. Joe was proud of the work he did and did it very well. Joe had a good heart, willing to help family and friends whenever he could. He especially liked to help out is nieces and nephews. Joe loved his family and loved his daughter Kenzie with every ounce of his being. He loved to laugh and would make sure to get everyone around him smiling and laughing. Joe enjoyed playing the bass guitar, dancing, going to church and taking pictures. He also loved fishing and spending time outdoors. Joe was proud to say he won a tough man contest and that he spent time as a bass guitarist in a rock band. Joe is going to be missed by so many that loved him.
Joseph is preceded in death by his mother Roxanne, brother Todd, and grandparents. Joe leaves behind his daughter Mackenzie, father David, Autumn Wilber, sisters Amber Ross, Bonny (Bill) Gilbert, Katherine (Donald) Horton, Cari (Arnold) Garcia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at Gorsline Runciman in Dewitt on Friday August 18. A family visitation is at 1pm, friends/family visitation at 2pm, followed by a service at 3pm.
