
Kris Scott Holloway, of DeWitt, Michigan passed away on April 19, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born October 30, 1952 to Phillip and Roberta Holloway in Flint, Michigan. He attended the Flint schools throughout his school career graduating from Southwestern high school in 1970. Kris worked for the Flint schools for 36 years in several capacities ending his career as a courier. He lived in Flint his whole life until 2004 when he married Jill and moved to DeWitt. Kris married Jill Carpenter on June 26, 2004 on the shores of Lake Mitchell in Cadillac where he met her seven years earlier.
He was an accomplished skater and played goalie in the adult hockey leagues in Flint. He loved motorcycles, owning eight different bikes and enjoyed riding them as soon as the weather broke in early spring. Some of his favorite past times were watching and attending several types of motorsports such as Formula 1, NASCAR, RallySport, Indy cars, MotoGP, flat track, and Supercross.
He enjoyed different sports, especially Windsor spitfires and Red Wings hockey, fishing the inland Lakes for panfish, hunting, and camping in our fifth wheel.
Kris was a music lover, enjoying all forms of music especially the classics and attended many concerts. He was a lifelong three stooges fan and was able to quote most scenes from their episodes.
He cared about all people, always being there when you needed a friend or someone to tell you a story. But more than anything, Kris loved his family. He had four wonderful children, sons, Trevor (Suzanne) Holloway, Ian Holloway, and Robert Carpenter as well as his daughter Nicole(Jeff) Babcock. Between his children, he was blessed with his grandchildren, Dylan, Gabriella, Gavin, Chance, Olivia, Payton, Aubrey, and Tony. Kris is survived by his siblings, Vicky, Todd, and Tracy and preceded In death by his parents and sister Lana.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home - DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington Street, DeWitt, MI 48820. There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his honor. We want to especially thank the nursing staff at Henry Ford Hospital for their kind and special care of Kris.
