Leslie Ray Kindel

DeWitt, MI

Born October 28, 1917, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 10, 2011 at the age of 93. Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Slagell) Kindel in May of 2007; daughter Pauline Kindel; and brothers, L.C. Kindel (who died the same day at the same hour as Leslie), Earl, R.B. and Fred Kindel. He is survived by his loving family; daughter, Pat Newcombe of DeWitt; son, Ron (Debbie) Kindel of Eagle; grandchildren, Gary, Troy (Jill), Rick Newcombe, Ben and Alex Kindel; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Jameson Newcombe. Leslie served in the Army during WWII, and worked for Mr. Frank Beck at Beck’s Orchard for 2 years. He retired from GM after 34 years of service, and was a member of Woodview Church of the Nazarene. Leslie loved his family, they were the most important thing in his life. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation 1 hour prior to service, at Woodview Church of the Nazarene, 1500 E. State Road, Lansing, with Pastor Mark Walker officiating. Interment will follow in North Star Cemetery, Ithaca, MI. The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Hospice of Lansing, 4052 Legacy Parkway, Suite 200, Lansing, MI 48911, in memory of Leslie.
