Lesta was born on December 4, 1944 to Raymond and June McKay.
She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postmaster for over 30 years. Lesta enjoyed quilting and sewing, playing Bingo, yard sales, and spending time with her cats.
Lesta was preceded in death by her parents as well as her son, Daniel.
She leaves behind her daughter, Elizabeth (Rek) Thorne; grandchildren, Daniel (Shannon) Thorne, Hannah (Richard) Gleason, Kelsey (Andrew) Klais, Andrew (Grace) Thorne, Jon (Kat) Thorne, and DaKota Price; 14 great-grandchildren, Evangeline, Lincoln Daniel, Rowan Thorne, Graclyn, Izayah, Josiah, Elijah Gleason, Lincoln Klais, Elliot, Archer, Maverick Thorne, Athena, Dominic, and Luna Thorne; brother, Mike (Teresa); and sister, Cathie.
A funeral service for Lesta will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel, 205 E Washington St., DeWitt, MI 48820, Pastor Mark St. Louis officiating. Following the service, Lesta will be laid to rest in Rose Cemetery in Bath, Michigan.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Daniel Thorne, Andrew Thorne, Richard Gleason, Andrew Klais, Jon Thorne, Dakotah Price, and Izayah Gleason.
