

Lois J. LaViolette of Lansing and Port Charlotte, Florida was born on June 13, 1943, the daughter of Darold and Zelma Beckner, and passed away on February 21, 2017 at the age of 73. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, coloring and crocheting. She loved teddy bears, hummingbirds and all animals, especially her dog, Buddy. Most of all, Lois loved spending time with family and friends. She married her husband, Thomas LaViolette, on January, 17, 1965. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Loriean Barnes; sons, James, Kenneth (Tina) and Scott (Lisa) LaViolette; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Kristopher, Ashley, Madison, Danielle, Gavin and Sophia; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Reymond; sister, Mary Alice Stoher; brother Everett (Sharon) Beckner; sisters-in-law, Mary Beckner, JoAnne Beckner and Esther Romblom; brother-in-law, Donald (Kathy) LaViolette; lifelong friend, Aletha Prince; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 S. Bridge St., DeWitt, MI, with Rev. Robert Irish presiding, and visitation one hour prior. The family will receive friends from 2~4 and 6~8 p.m. on Monday, February 27th at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing.
