Marie Alberta George

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Marie George, age 73, was called home to be with her Lord and family on March 1, 2016. She was born September 21, 1942 in Gary Indiana to Rex and Nellie (Rans) Cummins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike Cummins, and daughter, Teri Keller. She is survived by her husband, Howard George, son, Gordy Ferguson, 2 daughters, Laurie Ferguson and Dawn (Duane) Raymond, 6 step children, James George, Dean George (Tammy Parker), Timothy George, Mark George, Treasa George-Price (David Price) and Mickael George, 7 siblings, Rex (Sandy) Cummins, Jim (Ruth) Cummins, Sharon (Hans) Kroll, JoAnn (Randy) Steuer, Myra (Kent) Taylor, Bill Cummins, and Brenda Shaffer; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was also a member of Psalm 91 Church and was recently baptized. The most important part of her life was her family. Marie enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, and painting pottery. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. Each year her Christmas display became more elaborate. Once the decorating was finished, she made fudge, peanut brittle, hard candy, chocolate coconut balls, peanut butter balls, turtles and sugar cookies. Giving a bundle of candy to her family and friends brought her great pride and joy. Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday March 19, 2016 at Psalm 91 Church, 7501 Coleman Road, East Lansing, MI with Pastor Bobbie Miller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Psalm 91 Church, PO Box 362, Bath, MI in memory of Marie or to her surviving spouse, Howard George, 16430 Park Lake Road Lot 15, East Lansing MI 48823. Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
