Marilyn Coin of DeWitt passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on January 6, 2026, at Hospice House UM Health–Sparrow. Marilyn was born on March 9, 1932, in DeWitt to Tom and Matie (Vaughn) Staub. She spent her entire life in DeWitt, a community she deeply loved.
Marilyn worked as a bookkeeper with the City of DeWitt, Clinton County Treasurer’s Office and the State Employees Credit Union, from which she retired in 1994.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Gene Coin, daughter Penny (Jack) Finney and her son Ken Coin. She is survived by her grandson Sam Coin, granddaughter Kate (Greg) Rudawski, former daughter-in-law Liz (Ron) Vrancheff and her sister Janet Dunn
Marilyn enjoyed traveling, quilting and reading her bible. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided her daily. Marilyn deeply cherished her family and friends and found great joy in the relationships she had.
In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no Celebration of Life will be held. Those who wish to honor her memory may consider a donation to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
