Marjorie Ann was born to Howard and Verma Robbins on January 25, 1941. At the tender age of only 4 years old, Margie witnessed the tragic death of her sister, Barbara Jean. Shortly after that time, her parents relinquished her care to her paternal grandparents, Charles and Effie Robbins. They provided her with a stable and loving home.
When Margie was in her teen years she met Richard Pierson, the love of her life. They married one month following her graduation from St. Johns High School. Their marriage was one of devotion and stood the test of time. They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary this past July. Margie's commitment to her husband set the example her daughters followed in their marriages.
Margie had one other true love. She humbly accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and spent the rest of her life honoring Him in various roles. Marge served at DeWitt Community Church for many years, including her work on various committees and leading Junior Church. In addition to her responsibilities at church and home, she invested her time in the neighborhood, by teaching children about God's love for them and His plan for their lives through Child Evangelism Fellowship. She continued this work for many, many years. Margie had two homes. One in DeWitt, Michigan, and the other in McIntosh, Florida. In McIntosh, she continued what she had done in Michigan. Margie made lasting friends wherever she went. She will be greatly missed by so many people.
Margie looked forward to being reunited with family members who went before her into Heaven. First, her grandparents, Charles and Effie Robbins. Also, her mother, Verma Collins, and her dad, Howard Robbins, along with her step-mom, Hazel Robbins. After nearly 80 years apart, she and her sister, Barbara Jean, are together once more. She is also spending time now with her beloved brother, George. Both Earl and Rhoda Pierson are undoubtedly celebrating their daughter-in-law's homegoing. Margie was likely met by two very special children when she entered Heaven; her grandson, Brian Russell, and her great-granddaughter, Lily Rin Wint.
Margie's family remaining behind are heartbroken, yet grateful. They are very thankful for the healing Marge received upon entering Heaven. It is a great comfort to know they will be reunited with her someday due to their own decisions to live for Christ. Understandably, Dick will miss his wife to the greatest extent. Likewise, her children, Rhonda (Kevin) Russell, Rick Pierson, and Shelly (Larry) Dyksterhouse will grieve her absence in their lives. Margie deeply loved each family member, though she had an extra special place in her heart for her grandchildren; Justin (Amanda) Russell, Christina (Justin) Wint; Alan Pierson, David Pierson, David (Felicia) Dyksterhouse and James (Olivia) Dyksterhouse. Yet, another special place in her heart was reserved for her great-grandchildren, Peyton and Brady Russell; Theo and Roman Wint; Skyler Robbins-Pierson; Claire, Laura, and Owen Dyksterhouse; and Drew Dyksterhouse. Margie also leaves behind her brother Gary (Anna) Robbins and sisters, Connie (Butch) Williams and Diane (Don) Adams, along with several nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at Northpointe Community Church, 505 Webb Drive, DeWitt, Michigan, on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Visitation will be at 11 AM., the service at noon. All are welcome to attend the graveside service at DeWitt City Ceremony, 801 N. Bridge Street, DeWitt, Michigan. A light luncheon will follow at the church.
