Mary Lou Hicks

Mary Lou Hicks passed away March 8, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born September 17, 1937, the daughter of John and Mary (Tomanica) Sipka. Mary Lou loved children and enjoyed taking her grandkids on various day trips and vacations. She enjoyed cooking and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. She was known for always having the cleanest and best decorated house where she hosted family gatherings.

Surviving are her children, Mark Matthew Hicks, Renee Lynn McKerr, and Tina Marie Hicks; grandchildren, Lindsey Nicole Hicks (Doug Reid), William Levi Hicks (Paige), Jennifer Black (Curtis Carn), Christa Black (Doug DeLeon), Kaci Kinville (Michael), Derek McKerr (Elizabeth), and Robert McKerr (Sydney); great-grandchildren, Koya and Kaden LaPaugh, Breannyn and Taylor Black, Paityn, Ezra, and Jace Hicks, Owen, Emmett, Henry, and Maggie McKerr; siblings, Jean Jones, Shirley Blais (George), Tom Sipka (Barbara), and Ron Sipka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hicks; infant son, Jeffery; siblings, Fran Cook, Lillian Rockafellow, John Sipka, and James Sipka.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Therese Parish with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm Friday at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel.
