Richard Leroy Riggs

With heavy hearts we are sad to announce the passing of our father, Richard Leroy Riggs. Richard resided at 13307 Watson Rd Bath Michigan. Richard went home on January 4th 2024 at the age of 83. He was born in Saranac Michigan at home on his grandma's kitchen floor on May 27th, 1940.

In Richard's 83 years of being here on earth, he was so many things to so many people. He was a son, a brother, a husband, a dad, a papa, uncle and a friend. Richard truly had a heart of gold, always ready to lend a helping hand. Richard worked for General Motors for 33 years before retiring to live his life with his wife Bonnie Jean Riggs of 59 years. Richard was such a hard worker. Constantly working around the house and yard every day. Richard loved his family and was the rock of his family. The passing of Richard has left a hole in the hearts of so many! His stories will be told and repeated for years for years to come. Richard loved his country and was saddened by the corruption in the political system and feared it would be the downfall of our country.

In dad's final days, his biggest joy was to watch his great great grandchildren play. Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Jean Riggs and his daughter Laura Ann McCarty. He leaves behind so many family members that love him very much. You will be missed Dad. We love you beyond words.

A funeral service for Richard will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington St. DeWitt, MI 48820. Interment to follow at Rose Cemetery.
