Our sympathy to Joanne and the Wells family. I first knew Bob as a teacher and then as a businessman. He was such a gentle and passionate man. We could see it in his photograph and entertaining programs. Shelly and I will miss him.

 I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing.  He was such a good kind man.  I cannot even begin to share the many memories I have of our days on Tremont Street!  Such fond memories of our growing up together.  I will always remember riding in the landscaping truck to the fairgrounds for the annual 4th of July fireworks. So sorry to hear of his passing. One of my most memorable teachers, one who made a difference. I still have a photo he took of me for one of his slide shows, as well as my 9th grade Biology class leaf collection. My sympathy to all the family.

So sorry to hear of Mr Wells' passing. He was my very favorite teacher in 7th grade. To be 12-13 years old is an awkward time, and middle school can be socially treacherous for students. Mr Wells' classes--both science and photography--were the ones I looked forward to because of his kindness and humor. I always had fun in his classes, and he was a trusted teacher-friend. I will never forget him. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr Wells was one of the most personable people I knew. He simply loved life. He was a true friend and just a wonderful person. You will be sadly missed Mr. Wells. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Mr. Wells was my favorite teacher at Cantrick.  He had a wonderful sense of humor.  I also have fond memories of the slide presentations he gave at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.  You have my sincere condolences.

With a twinkle in his eye, and a quip on his lips, Bob brought smiles to so many people. His compassion and caring for others has been carried on through his daughters. He couldn't have hoped for a better legacy. While working with Sue, I would hear about their plans for photography trips to the Southwest, a time they treasured together. Bob's photographic skills are legend and provided spectacular visuals for his patriotic multi-media presentations. On his visits to help Sue with landscaping, he generously offered his advice and hands-on assistance to me. Bob will be remembered for his kindness and authenticity. He was a genuine role model.

Drear Mrs Wells,Lynda,Sue,Kay, and the rest of your family, my deepest sympathy goes out to you.  Mr. Wells was my favorite teacher of all times!  I had many unique,fun, and creative teachers however, he topped them all. He was an inspiration to me,which led me to the career path that I chose. (Teaching)  I have always held your family in high regards.   Growing up with Lynda, attending MYF, Cristancy, Cantrick and Monroe High with her.   Every week when I visit in Monroe, passing Tremont The Wells family and the beautiful landscaping appears to me. On one of my many visits to your home there is one particular visit that stands out to me which made a life long impression upon me. There  was a chalk board/memo board on the wall. On it was written "Princess JoAnn I Love You Robert". I thought that was the most beautiful, and sweetest message he could have ever written To me, that defined him!   I  am so sorry for your loss. I have thought of Mr. Wells so many times. He was my 9th grade biology teacher in 1961.  He made class so interesting that I'll always remember him as a very kind man that loved teaching children.

Condolences to the Wells family.  Mr. Wells was my 1st & best boss.  Besides teaching me so much about landscaping, he taught me many valuable life lessons that helped shaped me into the person I am today.  Mr. Wells had such a great reputation that the reference letter he wrote for me 36 years ago was one of the main reasons I was hired at the company I'm still employed. I still remember the interviewer saying anyone that was good enough to work for Bob Wells is good enough to work for him.  Through the years I would occasionally run into Mr. & Mrs. Wells at a local restaurant. Mr. Wells always remembered my name & was always interested in finding out what I had been up to regarding my family & career.  I would also be able to find out what he had been up to & how his family was doing.  I will truly miss these encounters.  God Bless.

I was so saddened to hear about Mr.Wells. Bob was my seventh grade science teacher too, and he was truly inspiring. I saw him often throughout the years, and he always remembered each and every student he ever had. He was the true Mr. Green Jeans, and his horticultural expertise can be seen throughout the city. So sad to see this news! Working for Bob at Wells Landscaping was my first full-time job that lasted 7 years until joining the military. It was a privilege to know Bob, and it's still a privilege to know his wife Joanne. When my parents had landscaping done at their house back in the early 80's I was still too young to work, but I was eager to help with what Wells Landscaping was doing. Back then, Bob told my Dad and I that I should "keep eating meat and potatoes and call him in a couple years" for a job. I did and I have many fond memories working the "trim crew" and "mowing crew". We always hoped we would be assigned the "trim crew" so on morning break we would get our sugar rush of donuts and Mt. Dew (Bob's favorites!) delivered by the "Donut Lady" (Joanne). Moving back to Monroe and buying our home, my wife and I chose to have Bob work his landscaping magic for us. We love the garden landscaping and we'll be able to walk around the yard of our home and carry Bob's memory with us for years to come. RIP Mr. Wells.

Thank you, Mr Wells.  You were one of the few teachers I remembered from Cantrick from 33 years ago.  RIP.

Mr. Wells was my most inspirational teacher ever.  He was my seventh grade Science teacher.  I have often wondered what happened to him since seventh grade (I am 50 now).  So sad I could never tell him in person how important he was to me as a teacher.  Always so kind and caring.  I loved science before him but I loved it even more after.  He meant the most to me as a teacher.  I am so glad he taught at Monroe Public Schools.  The world was blessed to have him in it.  Thank you so much Mr. Wells.  I remember learning how he made that signature that looked like a bunch of circles on top of each other and a long line with a small swirl at the end.  He said it was just a B with a W and e and ll on top of each other and a long line and a small s.  MY FAVORITE TEACHER EVER.

Joanne and Girls, I am so sorry to hear that Bob has passed. He was one of my best teachers. I learned so much from the content he taught to how he lived life. You should be proud and know that he will always be with you.

WHAT A WONDERFUL MAN MR WELLS WAS-I owned the SWEET THINGS BAKERY  in Monroe-one of the great treasures in my week was when BOB AND JOANNE came in-always big  smiles and  a great caring  for  others. Just good  good  people. Prayers for Joanne and his beloved children. DEAN ANTEAU Monroe Michigan
