

Roger Noyce, 78, of DeWitt, Michigan died January 8, 2016 after an agonizing yet courageous fight with complications from heart surgery. He was born May 7, 1937. He graduated from Eastern High School and earned his degree in Geology from Michigan State University. Roger worked for the Michigan State Highway Department in Ann Arbor at the testing and research lab before transferring to the Department of Natural Resources at Rose Lake. He received the National Resources Commission Commendation for Outstanding Employee in 1988. He retired from the Department of Environmental Protection in 1993. Roger was active in outdoor sports, and especially loved fly fishing. He was an accomplished wood carver and enjoyed carving water fowl, fish, and wildlife.
Roger served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boys Scouts, devoting many hours to the troop.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, DeAnne, 4 children, Todd (Tammy) Noyce, Terilyn Noyce, Tamara (Tom) Fleming, Amy (Matt) Williams; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Suzanne (Wayne) Clark; brother-in-law, Darell (Diana) Rohrer; and cousins, William Schaar and Barbara Frederick.
Above all Roger, loved his family and cherished time spent with them, and they will greatly miss “Pops”.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Roger may be made to Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Schavey Road, DeWitt, MI 48820.
