She worked as a health record analyst for over 30 years at Sparrow Health.

Shelly was a fiercely loving and devoted mother, a loyal wife, and a true people-person who could light up any room with her smile and loud laugh. She had a natural way of making people feel seen and comfortable in her presence, and she never met a stranger she couldn’t turn into a friend. Shelly’s kindness, humor, and ability to lift the spirits of those around her is what people treasured about her most.

Wife of Charles E. Reed, Sr., mother of Anthony Badgley (Sarah Mazure), Cyndi Green; bonus kids, Lesha Reed, Earl Reed, Dawn Reed and the late Gregory B. Kirshy; daughter of Randall and Janice Badgley; sister of Selina Wardman, Sonya Spears(Jared Spears); aunt of Brianna Spears, Nicholas Spears, Tyler Spears, Trenton Wardman and Kathleen Wardman.

The family would like to thank all the nurses, specialists, and doctors at McLaren Hospital in ICU, levels 5 & 8, for the compassionate care and kindness they gave Shelly.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home (DeWitt Chapel), 205 E. Washington St., DeWitt on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. followed by dinner at her favorite restaurant, The Olive Garden, 5015 Marsh Rd., Okemos at 6 p.m.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Shelly on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 5 p.m. at Randall & Janice Badgley’s home in Bath.
