Terry “Bunk” Peiffer, age 89 of DeWitt, passed away on Jan. 15, 2023. He was born in Carson City on Nov. 23, 1933 to Charles and Dorothy (Clark) Peiffer. Terry married Marie Datema on May 9, 1959 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston, Michigan.
Terry served in the Army as a tank driver at the end of the Korean War from Germany and retired after 32 years of service to General Motors. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since he was 18 years old.
Terry is survived by his wife, Marie (Datema); children, Teresa Peiffer (Barb), David Peiffer, LuAnn Schneider (Paul), Douglas Peiffer (Mary), and Donna Peiffer (Chuck); grandchildren, Timothy, Dustin, Nathan, Claudia, Charlie, Nicole, and Mollie; great grandchildren, Brandon, and Charlotte; and siblings, Ramon Peiffer, Ronald Peiffer, and Lana Hufnagel (Anthony).

A Detroit Red Wings Fan, Terry enjoyed farming, walking, traveling, meeting new people, and going to the casino with family and friends.
Visitation at Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington St., Monday from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt, Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing.
