

Anna Lea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Born in Pierre Part, Louisiana on November 11, 1938, she graduated from Assumption High School in 1956 and Spencer Business College two years later. Anna Lea was happily married to her husband, Paul Melancon, Jr., “Radar”, for 64 years, until his death in July 2024. She dedicated her life to her family, caring lovingly for her parents during their times of need. She provided a warm home, a constant source of support, and many joyful traditions and memories for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, Stacie Melancon Barrient (Dirk), Dana Melancon Schexnayder (Kevin), Paul Stanislaus Melancon, III, and Amy Melancon John; seven grandchildren, Kevin Schexnayder, Jr. (Krystalin), Brittany Barrient, Scott Schexnayder (Katie), Ashley O’Toole (Matthew), Benjamin Schexnayder, B. Cade Melancon, and Emily John; six great-grandchildren, Drew Knight, Jr., Scott Schexnayder, Jr., Lana Schexnayder, Kenzie Schexnayder, James Schexnayder, and Caroline O’Toole; and three sisters-in-law, Bootsie Crochet, Cindy Crochet, and Dorothy Charlet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Crochet; and three siblings, Horace Crochet, Sandra Crochet Kern, and Clinton Crochet.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville from 10:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
