

“God saw I was tired and a cure was not to be so He put His arms around me and whispered come home with Me.” God called Wayne home early Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the age of 61. He was a resident of Belle Rose, Louisiana and native of Indianapolis, Indiana. “Doc” retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 406 and served his country in the Vietnam War as a U.S. Army veteran. He belonged to the Big “J” Hunting Club and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1087. When Wayne wasn’t spending time with his family he enjoyed watching NASCAR and football. He also enjoyed his time hunting and will be remembered as a great story teller.
Wayne leaves behind in his adoring wife, Gisele Medine Turner; daughter, Misty Turner Mire and husband, Tyson; sons, Floyd Wayne Turner, III and wife, Kay and Mat Andrew Turner and fiancé, Gail Gros; ; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Keely, Reece, and Andrew Turner; sisters, Angela Turner Luna, Robin Turner Guillot and husband, Ricky, Shawn Turner Ingle and husband, Loyd; brother, Sunny Lynn Turner and wife, Mary; and a mother in law, Jennie Medine.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Floyd Wayne Turner, Sr.; mother, Leotha (Tykie) Turner; brother, Kerry Earl Turner; and his father in law, Andrew G. Medine, Sr.
Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume on Wednesday at St. Jules Catholic Church, Belle Rose from 8 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Nolan, III, Benjamin Couch, Tyson Mire, Trent N. Turner, Sunny L. Turner, James “Chili” Russo, Brian “Teddy” Rodrigue and Gerald “G-Man” Hernandez.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing, 9063 Siegen Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
