

John Wilfred Capone Sr., 89, a native and resident of Donaldsonville, LA, returned to his heavenly home, on Saturday, February 17, 2018. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a charismatic friend to many. John was a Pontiac GM dealer for 46 years in Donaldsonville and co-owner of Capone Pontiac Company, Inc. He had a passion for aviation, Indy car racing, fine dining, and Big Band jazz. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Geraldine Milano Capone; two sons, John W. Capone Jr. and wife, Laverne (Luvy); and Mark A. Capone Sr. and wife, Alison; one daughter, Sue Ann Latino and husband, Frank; eight grandchildren, John W. Capone III, Adriane Blank, Felicia Capone, Kim Latino, David Latino, Kaili Broussard, Olivia Capone and Linsey Capone; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Rome; and one brother, Robert A. Capone Sr. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Janell G. Capone; grandson, Mark A. Capone Jr.; his parents, John and Agnes LeBlanc Capone; and two brothers, Elmo J. Capone and Carl L. Capone, Sr. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Ascension Catholic Church from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment to follow in Ascension Catholic Mausoleum. The continued acts of kindness and love from neighbors, friends, and family touched John deeply. He particularly expressed appreciation and gratitude to Chef Eric Weil and neighbor, Murline Diez, for their friendship and support.
