Johnnie Young Simoneaux

Johnnie Bell Young Simoneaux, 74, died on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Ted Dubis, Donaldsonville; two sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Simoneaux, Jr. and fiancé, Mindy Garland, Donaldsonville, and Wayne Simoneaux and wife Kathy, Gonzales; five grandchildren, Hollie Medus (Veronica), Kurt Medus (Mya), Chance Simoneaux, Miranda Valentine (Chad) and Lindsey Simoneaux; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mollie Long and Mary Howell and husband, Eldon, all of Minden; two brothers, William Rhuel Young, Shreveport, and Earl Ray Young, Baton Rouge; numerous nieces and nephews; Godchild, Kathy Gremillion; and many loyal friends that were like family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Simoneaux; mother, Della Mae Babin; father, William Minister Young; step fathers, Harper Young and Joseph Babin; one sister, Elsie Marie Vitalli; one brother, Harry Marvin Young; and one special friend, Francis Dubis.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville and on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Interment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Mausoleum in Donaldsonville.

Pallbearers will be Kurt Medus, Chad Valentine, Chance Simoneaux, Brian Fernandez, Glenn Luna, and Trace Bourg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Hutchinson and Mark Dubis.
