Joyce Marie Scott

Joyce Marie Scott, resident of Belle Rose and native of New Orleans, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016. She was 82. Joyce enjoyed cross-stitching, quilting, and reading. Joyce truly cherished the time spent with family. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Landry and life partner, Melinda Vawter; step daughters, Lorraine Scott (Lenny), Zeffie Roth (John), and Tammy Corey; son, Joseph G Ecosta (Gail); step son, Lannie Scott (Sherry); and grandchildren, Troy, Jason, Tracy, Kelly, Bradley, Christopher, Cody, Francis, Samatha, David, Deanna, Jessica, Victoria, Brandi, Krissy, Robert, Samina, Noor, and William; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Ecosta and Thomas Coleman Scott; sisters, Amelie Courreges and Lois Talley; step son and wife, Bettis Scott (Effie); grandson, Gabriel Ecosta; granddaughter, Barbara Scott; great granddaughter, Jocelyn Tindell; and a son in law, Wayne J. Landry. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume on Thursday at St. Jules Catholic Church, Belle Rose from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment to follow in the church mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Troy Landry, Jason Landry, Jason Granier, Christopher Ecosta, Cody Ecosta, and Bradley Ecosta. Dylan Landry, Jacob Landry, Matthew Webre, Seth Landry, and Cole Harris will serve as honorary pallbearers. We would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their care and support.
