

Lloyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone he met. He never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed striking up conversations with people wherever he went. Lloyd was a proud graduate of Assumption High school in Assumption Parish where he ultimately returned to dedicate the last sixteen years of his work career as a maintenance supervisor for the school system. His work gave him purpose, and he took great pride in his profession.
Lloyd enjoyed sitting on his patio overlooking Bayou Lafourche. In his spare time, he enjoyed bass fishing with his friends and his brother-in-law Anthony. He was also an avid firearms enthusiast who enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passion with others.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-five years, Frances Dato Hidalgo; one daughter, Beth Hidalgo Schexnayder and son-in-law Phil; three grandchildren, Rowan, Lyla and Emmie Schexnayder; two siblings, Sandra Lawrence (Larry) and Dwight Hidalgo and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sr. and Anna Mae Martin Hidalgo; his in-laws, A.J. “Blink” and Jennie Dato, his niece Brooke Groner, and his nephew Charles Oswald.
A visitation will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will be held at the church mausoleum.
