Marguerite was born to Ferdinand and Irene Hebert in Pierre Part, LA on September 24, 1931 and was affectionately called “Nan Noon” by all who knew and loved her. Having no children of her own, she compassionately and wholeheartedly helped to raise both her Hebert and Dugas nieces and nephews and all of their children as well. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Anna Hebert; a host of nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; special friend, Gloria Daigle; and her beloved cat, Cali. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jesse Dugas; parents, Ferdinand and Irene Hebert; and brother, Harold Hebert. She was an avid LSU sports fan and loved to crochet, especially blankets and doll clothes, gifting them to family and donating many as auction items at local church and school fairs.
Pallbearers will be Harold Harris, Cody Landry, Keith Dugas, Gerard, Timothy and Robert Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Coy Soreth and Roger Alleman.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and Pinnacle Hospice for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 15, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, LA from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, conducted by Rev. Tomi Thomas. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.
