Mary Ann Hebert Acosta, lifelong resident of Donaldsonville, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2023, at the age of 74. Over the years, she worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at various hospitals in the surrounding area until retirement. She was an unforgettable person and avid fisherman who was a stranger to no one. She found true joy in being at the camp in Leeville, traveling to The Smoky Mountains in the fall to see the fall foliage, riding side by sides in Colorado, camping at Paradise Ranch, and sitting on her porch in Belle River watching the eagles and alligators. She loved to be on the go spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 ½ years, Stephen Acosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Paul Broussard and Jennifer and Charles Montero; grandchildren and spouses, Dylan and Michelle Delaune, Danielle and Trey Thibodeaux, Alycia and Tripp LeBlanc, Grant Montero and fiancé Amy Gregoire; great grandchildren Olivia Delaune, Rhett Delaune, Anna Delaune, Luke Delaune, Carley Thibodeaux, Baby Thibodeaux due August 24, 2023, and Grayson LeBlanc. She is also survived by siblings Marvin (Mary Lee) Hebert, and Terry Hebert and sisters-in-law Marie Hebert and Gail Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo “Booster” Hebert, Sr. and Marie Milano Hebert, and brother, Cleo Hebert, Jr.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Neuro ICU for the loving and compassionate care shown to Mary Ann and our family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 8:30 am at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Mausoleum. Father Cleo Milano will be officiating.
