Matthew Frank Weil

Matthew Frank Weil, 55, a native of Donaldsonville, La and resident of Houma, La, died on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Donaldosnville surrounded by his loved ones. He ran the family business Jay’s Drive Inn, after the passing of his father, Heldon “Jay” Weil. He then later went on to work for River Parish Contractors as a Purchasing Agent. Matt had a passion for cooking and entertaining, but above all he was a true die hard Saints fan. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Tanner Weil; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brooke Weil Tusa and husband, Tanner, Nicole Briggs Bonvillain and husband, Bryan, Mandy Briggs Pellegrin and husband, Jason; two sons, Ryan Weil, and Jason Lirette; eight grandchildren, Jaxx Tusa, Gavin and Mallory Bonvillain, Madison and Kelsey Duplantis, Kelsey, Merlinah, and Jason Pellegrin, Jr.; mother, Connie Milano Weil; five siblings, Eric Weil and wife,

Diane, Clare Neely and husband, Joel, David Weil and wife, Toni, Leila Matassa and husband, Phil, Mary “Jay Bird” Long and husband, Charles; mother-in-law, Violet McLaughlin; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Phillip Tanner and wife, Mary, Carey Tanner and wife, Jeanette, Barry Tanner, James McLaughlin and wife, Amy, Melissa Tanner, and Carolyn Puglisi and husband, David, numerous nieces and nephews; and his furry four-legged friend, Toby.

Preceded in death by his father, Heldon “Jay” Weil.

The family would like to give a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice, as well as Jenn’s Angels for all the care and support and the staff of Mary Bird Perkins and MD Anderson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville at 12:00 p.m. Conducted by Fr. Paul Yi. Entombment to follow in church mausoleum.
