

He was surrounded by family and friends, his daughter, Tessie, and his wife, Doodlebug, was holding his hand. Robert was the owner and retired baker of Dimm’s Bakery of Donaldsonville, LA and a United States Army Veteran. Robert was a Master Baker of Dimm’s Bakery from 15 yrs. of age till he was 67 when he retired. He broke records running track at 14 yrs. old; 100 yd. dash, 50 yd., 220 yd., 440 yd. and has ribbons for them all. He raced boats, cars, motorcycles, and enjoyed bowling which he received trophies for them. He also mastered videography and was known as Bob & Alice’s Videoing for 30 years. In 1980, Robert went back to school where he received his GED from LSU and graduated Valedictorian. Robert was an ordained minister who preached and shared his messages about love at many churches and performed weddings. Alice says anything Robert put himself into, he mastered!
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Alice Lewis Dimm, Donaldsonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa Dimm Tran (Van), Houston, TX; a son, Robert J. Dimm, Jr., Thibodeaux; and 6 grandchildren, Ivan and Lubinh Tran, Vanessa Tran (Cam), Candy Dimm Russell (Jimmy), Sandy Dimm Reid (Josh), Ashlee Dimm Nelson (Jeremiah); and 11 great grandchildren; Lilyann Tran, Jake Ellis, Cameron and Carter Webber, Bailey and Hannah Russell, Haylee, Alex and Wyatt Reid, and Izabella and Olivia Nelson; and Godchildren, Shelly Dimm Cedotal and Cooper Dimm; and 1 special brother, Charles Murry. He is preceded in death by his twin sons, Ralph and Robert Dimm; parents, Ferdinand W. Dimm and Marianne Brunis Dimm Chifici; brothers, Ronald Dimm, Sr. and Roy Dimm, Sr.; sister, Sharon Dimm; twin brother and sister, Robert and Roberta Dimm; granddaughter Marianne Lily Tran; and Godchild, Kellie Dimm.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Drs. Stephen Adjei, Boyd Helm, Sr., Samir Patel, David Hastings, Michel Hirsch and Our Lady of the Lake ICU/PCU staff for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 10:00 am till 1:00 pm at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, LA. A Christian service will be conducted by the Rev. Ralph Doiron. Rev. Donald Garvin. Interment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery in Donaldsonville.
