Robert Joseph Schexnayder

Robert “Bob” Schexnayder, 83, a native of St James and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Bob retired from the LA Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and he also served in the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Abadie Schexnayder of 55 years; four sons, Robert Paul and wife, Debbie Schexnayder, David Charles and wife, Dawn Schexnayder, Dale Edward Schexnayder and Neal Joseph and wife, Goldie Schexnayder; one daughter, Lucy Schexnayder Knotts; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Cade, Reed, Sydney, Eden, Maci Schexnayder and Scottie Knotts; three brothers, Sidney and wife, Audrey, Henry and wife, Julia and George Schexnayder. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lionel and Beatrice Labiche Schexnayder; two brothers, James “Broom” Schexnayder and Louis “Preacher” Schexnayder and two sisters, Joan Ann Gautreaux and Lucy Schexnayder. The family would like to thank the staff at The Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge. Memorial donations can be made to Ascension Catholic School. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 6:30pm until 9:00pm and will resume on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church from 8:00am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am with celebrant Rev.
