

Wilson was a devoted husband of 71 years, and a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a WWII veteran, talented woodworker, gardener, and beekeeper, as well as a faithful usher and a parishioner of St. Jules Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his woodshop and garden, and visiting his neighbors on his golf cart. He proudly served his country during WWII as a member of the United States Army. Wilson’s love for his family and zest for life will continue to live on in each of our hearts.
Wilson is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marjorie Waguespack; his four daughters, Marian Waguespack (Brian Calvit), Donna Donato (Michael Sr.), Sandy Player (John Sr.), and Cindy Hoover (David Sr.); seven grandchildren: Emily Ward (Corey), Alison Donato, David Hoover Jr., Michael Donato Jr. (Kayla), Amanda Manas (Daniel), Sarah Gibbons (Cody), and John Player Jr.; and seven great-grandchildren Cooper Manas, Charlotte Manas, Emma Ward, Eloise Manas, Lillian “Lilly” Donato, Mason Gibbons, and Madeline “Maddie” Ward.
Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, and nine siblings: Vivian Landry (Tenom), Alidor (Clara), Leonard (Gertrude), Leslie Sr. (Catherine), Marie Antoinette, Heloise, Georgette Gonzales (Warren), George (Emma Dell), and Jerome (Earline).
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose on Saturday, January 18, 2025 beginning at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am. Wilson will be laid to rest at Ascension Catholic Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Brian Calvit, Michael Donato Sr., David Hoover Sr., John Player Sr., David Hoover Jr., John Player Jr., Corey Ward, Cody Gibbons, and Lawrence Landry Jr.
