
Bernabe Perez lived with a passion and exuberance that was unmatched, bringing energy and warmth to every space he occupied. His relentless drive, intellect, and kindness left an enduring impact on all who knew him.
Born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Downey, Bernabe excelled both academically and athletically at Warren High School. He was a CIF wrestling champion and competed in water polo, tennis, and track and field. Beyond sports, he was a dedicated scholar and leader—serving as president of the Gay-Straight Alliance Club and leading the robotics-aeronautics team to national competitions. His academic excellence led him to conduct research at the UCLA School of Medicine while still in high school.
Bernabe earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego, where he conducted neuroscience research. His passion for innovation led him to co-found several companies, pioneering advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning. He built a distinguished career in technology sales, consistently exceeding targets and fostering lasting client relationships.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bernabe had a way of making people feel valued. He was always ready with a joke, a kind word, or an uplifting pep talk when someone needed it most. He also mentored young professionals, guiding aspiring engineers and entrepreneurs as they navigated their careers.
Bernabe had a deep love for high-performance sports cars like his Audi and motorcycles. He found joy in the open road, embracing adventure and freedom with the same passion he brought to everything else.
He cherished every moment with his daughter, Bernadette, and took great joy in creating special memories with her. One of their favorite traditions was visiting Disneyland together, where they would spend the day riding attractions and sharing laughter. More than anything, he was a guiding light in her life—his love, wisdom, and unwavering support will forever shape her future.
Bernabe passed away from a motorcycle accident.
Bernabe is survived by his beloved two-year-old daughter, Bernadette Perez; his mother, Blanca Perez and his brother, Amilcar Perez. He is predeceased by his father, Mike Perez, and his brother, Carlos Perez.
Bernabe’s legacy of brilliance, determination, and love will live on in the many lives he touched.
A visitation for Bernabe will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Miller Mies Downey Mortuary, 10229 Paramount Blvd, Downey, California 90241. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601.
