

Michael Edward Michalowski born July 22, 1949, in Ashland, Wisconsin has passed to be with the LORD in heaven on May 26, 2022. He is survived by his wife of forty two years, Patricia (Carroll) Michalowski, his brother, Patrick Eugene Michalowski, his sisters, Debra Jean Michalowski and Linda Lou Michalowski Dahlberg Cosgrove, his half sister, Jean Caroyl (Linfors) Magno, his half sister Sharon Rae (Linfors) Mussachio, his stepson, David LeRoy Robbins, step daughter, Shelley Renee (Robbins) Newcomb, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In Mike's early teens he lost his father. His brother Patrick was 5 years old, and remembers Mike was like a father to him and his younger sister, Debbie and brother Ed. Mike joined the Merchant Marines when old enough and sailed on ships on the Great Lakes. He became a welder and worked for Barko Hydraulics in Superior, Wisconsin. He moved to California in the 1970's and met Pat (Carroll) Robbins, a nurse on January 5, 1980. They courted between her day shifts and his evening shifts, becoming engaged 6 weeks later on February 28, 1980. They were married at Chapel of the Wedding Bells, May 2, 1980, a union that lasted 42 years until he passed away.
Mike worked as a welder at the shipyard in Long Beach until he had to change occupations after injuring his knee and having 4 surgeries on it. He went back to school for 2 years and then became an electronic technician. He then went to work for Dunn & Bradstreet, The Nielsen TV Ratings.
During the past 10 years or so, Mike has been very active in his church, St. Bernard Catholic Church, ministries including; the pantry, various church projects and festival preparation. He was head of the Eucharistic Ministry, he ministered and brought the Eucharist to the sick and the poor.
Mike had a beautiful heart, so full of love. He will be so greatly missed!
A visitation for Michael will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whites Funeral Home, 9903 East Flower Street, Bellflower, CA 90706. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 9647 BEACH ST, BELLFLOWER, CA 90706-5817.
