

7, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Jadene; daughters Christal (Gerrit) Byma and Deanna (Sean)
Wilson; grandchildren Jackson, Logan, and Grace Byma, and Shiloh and Jeremiah Wilson; sister
Annette Dutton and family.
Rob was born to Robert and Lena (Branson) Bailey in Los Angeles. He spent his childhood in
San Pedro; Arkansas; and Torrance. He attended Torrance High School where he played football.
Rob proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, in 1962. Among the places he was stationed
were Keesler Air Force Base (Biloxi, MS), Shemya Air Force Base (Shemya, Alaska), Kingsley
Field (Oregon), and McGuire Air Force Base (New Jersey). In the Service, Rob was assigned to
the Fire Service Division where he spent time as a firefighter. He was honorably discharged in
1968.
Upon returning from the Service, Rob worked at Reynolds Metals. He bought a home in Cerritos
in 1970. Rob received an AA from Cerritos College. He also worked for Hi-Shear Corporation
and Alcoa Fastening Systems as an aerospace engineer before retiring.
Rob met Jadene Parrish at Pacific View Baptist Church in Torrance in 1979. They married in
November of 1980. Two daughters soon followed, Christal (1981) and Deanna in (1983). Rob
was a devoted Sunday School teacher at Cypress Park Church. In 1993, the family began
attending Cypress EV Free (Neighborhood Church) where Rob was a trustee and usher along
with other church service activities.
Rob loved coaching, He coached his girls’ soccer and softball teams. He even continued to coach
softball long after the girls aged out of the Cerritos Softball League. Rob loved traveling,
especially to Hawaii. He also enjoyed many hobbies including: college football (USC), reading,
classic cars, surfing, music, American History, shooting, and spending time with his grandkids
who were the light of his life.
Rob will be remembered for his strong faith and solid work ethic. He was a humble man with a
great sense of humor. Rob loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and papa.
