Rochelle Ann Pfluger (Booker) was born on June 5, 1957, to her loving parents Byron (Sonny) & Royce Booker. She was raised in Paramount, CA and she attended Our Lady of the Rosary where she met her lifelong best friend, Sue. She graduated from Pius X High School in 1975.
In June 1974, Rochelle met her soon-to-be husband, Ray Pfluger. After 6 years of dating, they got married on February 16, 1980. Ray and Rochelle went on to have 3 children, Robert (Bobby), age 42; Taryn, age 38; and Christine, age 34. In 1999, Bobby brought home a high school friend Andrew who Rochelle and Ray quickly called their own.
Rochelle began her career with Ralphs Grocery Store in the main office located in Compton, CA. She started in the Property Management department; she developed many friendships within that department and remains friends with most of them to this day. She then transferred to the Facility & Maintenance Department. She quickly became Mama bear to all the guys in that department and kept them in line every single day even if she wasn’t there in the office. She retired from Ralphs after 30+ years and right in time for COVID to hit so she could become teacher/chauffer to grandkids Raymond, Vincent & Addison.
Rochelle gained her Angel wings on the morning of September 6, 2024. Waiting for her at the Door to Heaven was the love of her life, Raymond Pfluger. She was also predeceased by parents Byron (Sonny) & Royce Booker and Sister-in Law Toni Burkhart along with many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by Children; Bobby, Taryn, Christine (Jake) and Andrew (Jessica), Grandchildren; Joshua, Tyler, Raymond, Jacob, Vincent, Addison and Baby Pugliese, Niece Trisha (Shawnee), Nephew Terry (Carrie), Great Nieces & Nephews; Robert, Caitlyn, Dusty and Zoey, Great Aunt Kay and many cousins.
A visitation for Rochelle will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Miller Mies Downey Mortuary, 10229 Paramount Blvd, Downey, California 90241. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 10229 Paramount Blvd, Downey, California 90241. A reception to follow service will occur Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 10229 Paramount Blvd, Downey, California 90241.
In honor of Rochelle's colorful personality, the family has requested attendees to be dressed in colored attire.
