On Wednesday, April 4th, 2012 our dear Lord received Anne Kuypers (nee van den Dungen) peacefully into His loving arms after 83 years of life and love. Devoted, loving wife for 58 years of Leo, mother of Bernie (deceased), John (Joanne Savoie), Diane (Rick Tyler), Helen (Jim Reuter) and Linda (Rob Butter). Oma to eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and one great grandson Will. Anne was born in Schijndel, The Netherlands. She and Leo came to Canada in 1954, one month after getting married. She was an active farm wife in the Orkney area for many years, retiring to Ancaster. She was a passionate seamstress, dancer, flower grower and volunteer. Her love of her children and grandchildren flowed ceaselessly.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2000, whereupon husband Leo became a full-time and incredibly devoted caregiver. While her memory slowly slipped away, her positive character, excellent physical health and determined spirit never left her. The family is grateful to the staff of St. Joseph’s Villa and Dr. Jim Williams, who met her every need with compassion and patience.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society or St. Joseph’s Villa. On-line tributes may be posted on this site in the Guest Book below. Service information is on the left side of this page. All are invited to join the family after the interment at St. Ann's Parish hall for lunch and reminiscing.
