Bodo (Bob) von Massow

(March 21, 1928-January 16, 2014)

Passed away peacefully at St. Peters Hospital in his 86th year with family at his side. Dearly beloved husband of Maria (nee Fast), his wife of almost 58 years. Predeceased by his parents Joachim and Gela von Massow. Beloved father of Sylvia (Terrence), Louise (Michael) and Philip (Lisa). Proud and loving grandfather to Stuart, Jonathan, Zachary, Jeremy, Alyson and Christian. Dear brother to Rudiger, Ulrike and the late Wendilgard. Bodo immigrated from Germany at the age of 23. He eventually settled with his wife and family in the Rockton area. Here he continued his passion for agriculture as an avid gardener and beekeeper. He was very engaged in his community church and service clubs. He is a charter member of the Rockton’s Lion’s Club where he served faithfully in Health and Welfare for 40 years. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will welcome their friends for a visitation at the Marlatt Funeral Home “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King St. W., Dundas, Monday, January 20, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, 29 Park St. W.
