Died in Hamilton December 19, 2011, aged 99 years. She was born in Hirsch Saskatchewan, December 11, 1912, but was brought up and educated in Montreal. She moved to Kitchener/Waterloo in 1943 and to Shalom Village in 2007. She was married for 55 years to Arthur Saunders, who died in 1989. She is survived by her children Peter Saunders, and his wife MaeWan Ho, of London England, and Ann Saunders, and her husband Jimmy Rabaza of Houston, Texas. She leaves three grandchildren, Adrian Ho, Miriam and Ruth Rabaza-Saunders, and two great grandchildren, Jasmine and Jade Ho. She also has one surviving sister, Dolly Steinberg; her other sisters, Miriam Kennedy, Sarah Miller and Esther Kosow predeceased her. A Memorial Service will be held at the Shalom Village sanctuary, 70 Macklin Street N, Hamilton, on Monday January 23 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Shalom Village, or to Oxfam Canada would be appreciated.
