The family of Elizabeth Taylor announces her passing with peace and dignity in her 98th year at St. Joseph’s Villa, on Monday, June 1, 2015. Predeceased by Alan Lawrence Taylor, husband of 57 years, beloved granddaughter Sabrina Wells, son-in-law Donald Dawson, six sisters and brothers, parents Robert and Elizabeth (nee Cameron) Riach. Survived by brother Ian Riach (Elgin, Scotland). Mother of Joyce Dawson (Don), Jennifer Martin (Victor Wells). Grandmother to Hillary Dawson (John Driscoll), Tim Dawson (Sarah Grundy) and James Martin. Dearest great-grandmother to Luc Joannette. In her last years, Elizabeth bore the challenges and trials of great age with typical Scottish acceptance and cheeriness. Her family wishes to thank those who cared for and supported her through that time, her fellow residents, Dr. Mohaterem, the unendingly patient, kind and highly competent nursing, PSW and other staff of Willow Grove, Chaplain Erin Poole, visitors and volunteers at the Villa, and most particularly her dear friend Hughette Falardeau. All deserve respect and admiration for the part they played in making Elizabeth’s life as joyful as it was. A private family service of remembrance will be held on Friday June 5th. The family invites friends to join them for tea, cakes and memories in the Conservatory at St. Joseph’s Villa, 56 Governors Road, Dundas, from 2-3:30 p.m. on that date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.marlattfhdundas.com.
