Passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Creekway Village Long Term Care facility in Burlington, Ontario at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Paul Felix Sutton (formerly Sontheimer), Mother to Julie Sutton-Yardley, mother-in-law to Chris Yardley, Aunt to Michael, Christopher and Vickie Sutton. Born in Berlin on June 9, 1921, Eva left for England in 1939 with only a suitcase on the Kindertransport. Eva spent 18 years as a kindergarten teacher at Derrydown Public School, North York, retiring in 1986. Eva contributed over 1200 volunteer hours in the North York Juvenile Justice Courts. She served Christmas dinners at the North York Seniors Center and delivered Meals on Wheels. She treasured social gatherings, especially with her teaching colleagues and dear family friends including the Greens. Eva’s sense of humour, inherited from her father Henry, was as much a part of her as the Kleenex always clutched in her hand. We would like to thank the staff at Creekway Village for their professionalism and heroic efforts in Eva’s last days. Memorial service/celebration of life will take place in the coming months in Toronto.
