It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Glenn after a brief illness. Survived by and will be sadly missed by Verna, his beloved wife of 69 years, his loving family and friends. Wonderful father of Craig (predeceased) and Evelyn Murphy , Joy and Mike Brophy, Carol Murphy, Gay and Ari Ranta and Joan and Mark McKay. A very special Grandpa and Papa to his 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Joy Chabot. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Myrtle Murphy, brother Rodger, son Craig and granddaughter Carly Ranta. Glenn was a proud WWII Veteran serving overseas for four years as Captain and Quartermaster with the 23rd Field Regiment. Glenn and his brother Rodger owned Murphy Bros. Ltd from 1946-1977. Glenn and Verna enjoyed many happy retirement years together He was always interested in others. A truly amazing man. Visitation will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 195 King St. West, Dundas, on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Marlatt Dundas Chapel on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
