The family of Maggie Golding regrets to announce her passing away on December 7, 2010, in her 90th year of life, after a long illness. Born on February 14, 1921 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, she is pre- deceased by her beloved husband Clyde and her son Christopher. Survived by daughters Diana Faulds (Bruce), Alison Stodin, and Lisa and John Yanch. Also survived by seven grandsons and ten great-grandchildren. Maggie was a strong and resourceful woman all her life, and though she worked out of the home, she will be remembered for her years of volunteer activities to help others. In her later years, post-retirement, she worked as a caregiver to countless children, a vocation rather than a job for her. A special place in her heart was always for her two beloved grandsons, Adam and Ryan Yanch, whom she helped to raise with a loving hand. Once she could no longer care for herself, her wish was to be placed nearby her daughter Lisa in Dundas so that she could continue to be an important part of our family unit. She spent her last few years as an active part of our loving family, and nothing made her happier. Special thanks go to Yorkville Place Retirement Home, who treated our mother with ultimate respect and caring. Cremation has already taken place. Visitation will be at the Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King Street W., Dundas, on Friday, December 10 from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, December 11 at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
