

Angelo Joseph Bottaro, 86, formerly of East Hartford, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Angelo was the husband of June (Cardello) Bottaro and preceded in death by his first wife Alice (Zukov) Bottaro. Angelo was born in Hartford on August 12, 1931, a son of the late Anthony and Rose Bottaro. Angelo was a proud US Army Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Lake Havasu Elks Club, Eagles Club and the VFW. He worked as a machinist for several years before fulfilling a lifelong dream to own his own business. He owned and operated the Villa Rose Restaurant and Pike Package Store in Newington for over 20 years. In his spare time he enjoyed a spirited card game with family and friends, tending to his vegetable and flower gardens, and putting his grandkids on the Oreo cookie honor system. Family was the most important thing to Angelo and he loved to entertain, celebrate the holidays, and cheer for his New York Giants over Sunday dinner. Angelo is survived by his two sons, Mark Bottaro and his wife Jennifer of Moodus, David Bottaro and his wife Deborah of Southington; three grandchildren, Danielle Bottaro, Samantha Bottaro and Jackson Bottaro. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Vera (Zukov) Karp of Delray Beach, FL; and three stepsons, Michael, Mark, and Paul Cardello. As a proud member of the Bottaro family he shared many happy memories with his brothers and sisters including; the late Samuel and Mary Bottaro, Joseph and Gloria Bottaro, Manny Bottaro and his late wife Rose, Nina Catalano and her late husband Salvatore, Virginia and Richard Asker, Carmel Battaglio and her late husband Nicholas, and Frank and Sophie Bottaro. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews behind. Funeral service will be Friday, November 17, 2017 at 10:30 am at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at Veterans Memorial Field @ Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 am.
