Anna M. Alexis (Cappa)

Anna M. (Cappa) Alexis, 91, of West Hartford and formerly of East Hartford, entered into eternal life on Monday (May 14, 2012). She was the loving wife of 69 years to Edward L. Alexis. Born in East Hartford on May 29, 1920, a daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (Vitale) Cappa, she had resided in the East Hartford area for most of her life prior to moving to West Hartford a year ago. A devout Catholic, Anna was a long-time faithful communicant of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, Hartford. She was an avid reader who loved doing crewel work. She was a loyal fan of the UCONN Women's basketball team and also enjoyed visiting the casinos. However, most of all she will be remembered as a loving, devoted, and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Besides her beloved husband, Edward, Anna is survived by her two caring daughters, Connie A. Houde and her husband, Robert, of West Hartford, Michele A. Tracey and her husband, Larry, of Enfield; four special grandchildren, Theresa Solesky and her husband, David, of Ft. Pierce, FL, Andrea Gately and her husband, Stephen, of Bedford, NH, Zachary Houde and his wife, Linda, of West Hartford, Melissa Egan and her husband, Timothy, of Enfield; five adored great-grandchildren, Chase, Patrick, Zoe, Christopher, and Olivia. She also leaves a brother, Carmen Cappa and his wife, Ruth, of Bedford, TX; a sister, Catherine DiFusco of South Windsor; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be Friday (May 18th) at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church in Hartford. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday (May 17th) from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna's name may be made to St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford, CT 06103.
