
Blodwen E. ""Bonnie"" (Russell-Munday) Emerick, 87, of East Hartford, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, (April 10, 2012) at the Glastonbury Health Care Center. She was the wife for over 51 years to the late Joseph J. Emerick, Jr. Born in Portsmouth, England on March 30, 1925, a daughter of the late Arthur Ewart and Mary Magdeline (Lloyd-Jones) Russell-Munday, she had resided in East Hartford for 61 years. She was a proud British Air Force veteran of World War II. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for over 20 years by KMART in Manchester as a manager of the Garden Shop. Besides her husband and parents, ""Bonnie"" was predeceased by a son, Peter J. Emerick of Vernon; and a sister, Mair M. Billing of England. ""Bonnie"" is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Ruoff and her husband, Edwin, of East Hartford, Carol Sue Peplow and her husband, Robert, of Bristol; her late son, Peter's devoted partner, Joanne Trudeau of Vernon; three grandchildren, Nicole Suzanne Gaffney and her husband, Kevin, of Bristol, Christine Anne Briggs and her husband, Jonathan, of Granby, Heather Lynn March of East Hampton; five great-grandchildren, Sean, Erin, Amy, Tara, and Hunter; and her long-time caregivers, Nancy Davis, Trisha Urso, and Jamie Anderson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Veteran's Memorial Field-Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
