Carol Lee Griffin

Carol Lee (Hunt) Griffin, 68, of East Hartford, beloved wife of Patrick “Pat” F. Griffin, passed away peacefully at home with her devoted husband by her side on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Born in Hartford on September 7, 1948, a daughter of the late Jasper L. and Beatrice (Miller) Hunt, she had been raised in South Windsor prior to moving to Middlefield, and finally settling in East Hartford for the past 30 years with the love of her life, Pat. Carol Lee worked hard throughout her life as an LPN at Hartford Hospital for over 20 years. She was a very independent woman until the early onset of Alzheimer’s almost 10 years ago, at which time her selfless husband put his life on hold to care for her and stay by her side until the very end. She was a member of the O.E.S. Good Intent Chapter #17, South Glastonbury. Carol Lee loved her winter trips to Florida with Pat, and her summers in New Hampshire with her family.

In addition to her husband, Carol Lee is survived by her daughter Candace Hammond and her husband Steven of East Hartford; her favorite grandchildren she lovingly called “her twins”, Alexis and Brandon Hammond; several uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral service will be Monday (March 20th) at 11 am at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, (Section M), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday morning from 9:30 -11 am.
