Cecilia M. (correia) Dejesus

Cecilia M. (Correia) DeJesus, 65, of Manchester, loving wife of the late Antonio Pedro DeJesus, peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, (November 1, 2009) at her home surrounded by her caring family. Born on July 17, 1944 in Casal do Freixo, province of Alvorninha, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Ascencao (Gaspar) Correia. Cecilia was a resident of Hartford for over twenty years prior to moving to Manchester over three years ago. Cecilia was employed as a Housekeeper at Hartford Hospital for ten years before her retirement. Cecilia was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Hartford and enjoyed knitting and crochet work. However, her most enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. Cecilia is survived by her two sons, Gilberto Jesus and his wife, Teresa, of Manchester with whom she made her home, and Sergio DeJesus of Hartford; a brother, Manuel Correia and his wife, Paula, of Bolton; a sister, Fernanda Reis and her husband, Manuel, of East Hartford; one adored granddaughter, Marissa Nicole Jesus of Manchester who was her pride and joy; a niece and two nephews, Lauren and Eric Correia, Manuel Reis; and several friends and former co-workers. Funeral services will be Wednesday (November 4, 2009) at 9:30 a.m. from the D'Esopo- East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Square, Hartford. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. Cecilia's family will receive relatives and friends TODAY from 5-8 pm at the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions in Cecilia's memory may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Community Center, 18-20 Madison Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106.
